The Ring-tailed Lemur is highly social, living in 'troops' led by a dominant female. They use their long, vividly striped, black-and-white tails like a flag so members of the troop can keep a track of where everyone is when travelling along the ground.
They have human-like hands with opposable thumbs and big toes so they are able to grip branches and hold objects such as their food of fruit, leaves, flowers and bark.
Lemurs love to sunbake often sitting upright with their arms outstretched looking as though they are meditating.
